'It may have have been wet outside but inside Lismore Parish church the sun was shining. The theme was What a Wonderful World and it certainly was with 23 wonderful arrangements showing off the beautiful stonework in the church. The display was set up like a pilgrimage with the desert rejoicing in the porch past the sunshine and a rainbow and on to the summer exuberance of swathes of pink roses, ferns and foxgloves and the austere beauty of a winter snow scene. There may have been brambles on the way but there was gentle rain too and finally in a beautiful ancient doorway the leaves of the trees being for the healing of the nations.
Arrangements were on pedestals, across pews and filling the window sills and each had an appropriate bible verse beside it. On Sunday afternoon folk from Appin Parish Church came across on the ferry to join in a special service to celebrate St Moluag's Day with home baking and tea and coffee and a chance for a catch up afterwards.
Although Rosemary Barry and Memory MacDonald coordinated the event there were many willing helpers who contributed to make the weekend such a success - from cleaning the church to providing flowers to helping with refreshments and stewarding in the church to welcome visitors. An especial thanks to the creative flower arrangers who provided such a variety of displays from a few red roses to a whole forest in the gallery.'
